HK Ní Shioradáin is a composer, lyricist, and performer from Dublin. They compose, music direct, and sound design for film, theatre, musical theatre, and radio. They play piano, sing, and produce.

Having trained on the Rough Magic Theatre’s SEEDS Programme in Sound Design, they have gone on to score and design work for platforms such as RTÉ, Virgin Media, Dublin International Film Festival, Galway International Arts Festival, Cork Midsummer Festival, and more, at home and abroad.

Recently, they were awarded the ADI New Work Award to produce their operetta, Beards, a farce about a queer immaculate conception in medieval times, which will premier later in the year. In 2023, they received an Arts Council Project Award to develop their musical, The Faggot Manifesto, with collaborator Ultan Pringle, which is heading for production next year.

They have a BA in English Literature and Film Studies from Trinity College Dublin, which is crucial to their film scoring and lyric writing, and a Certificate in Music Composition for Games from Griffith College Dublin with Pulse College.
